Wonderful Trip to the Southwest!!

dTo say that I’m tired would be an understatement. However, Tim, Karen, and I had an amazing adventure to the Southwest!.

Phoenix with our niece was exquisite. The weather was so lovely. Going to Pizzeria Bianco was incredible. The pizzas were perfect. The texture of the crust satisfied more than expected. The flavor combinations were unique AND familiar. So excited that I got to go to one of my bucket list places.

Spent time with our niece and had a blast!!

The Phoenix Zoo was an unexpected pleasure. We got to see cactus in bloom, unique squirrels and a GIGANTIC Rhinoceros peeing. YES, that rhino had A LOT of pee!! The vultures were bigger than I expected. They reminded me of the Bugs Bunny cartoon vultures.

Santa Fe with our nephew was lovely as well. We had some very tasty treats, saw the movie, “OPPENHEIMER”, went to Los Alamos, visited the Bradbury Science Museum, toured the home of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Walked around the Plaza in the heart of Santa Fe. Bought a new bracelet and ring to commemorate my visit. Celebrated Matt’s and my birthday at the Bull Ring Steakhouse.

Ate fabulous food and truly enjoyed the whole trip.

The irony of the last leg of the journey was hysterical. The whole trip was relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable. The memorable part of the trip home is the exhausting part.

Dallas, our stop over on the way home experienced record breaking storms from early morning through the evening. I learned a new term, “GROUND STOP”. No flights in or out of Dallas for most of the day.

So, we sat…..and sat…..and sat. We finally got on our last flight back to Dulles at 11PM. Got home at 3:50AM this morning.

I’m so happy about our trip. So wonderful. Also, happy to be home. Lots to do to catch up.

My Spring Garden has awakened. I love the Alium, Tulips, Iris, and so many other flowers that are getting ready to open.

April 26th is the 2024 NATIONAL PRETZEL DAY!! So, this Saturday, April 27th, I have Bavarian Pretzels on the menu.
